My second postcard from Italy came in from Bologna. 🙂
It was a vintage card (as I have requested), and I really quite like it.
Stamp:
A 1963 Europa CEPT stamp, Italian version, where the currency was still the Italian Lira.
Someone I sent to in the UK was so kind to offer to send some stamps when I mentioned I was collecting them. My parents were avid collectors back in their days, corresponding with people from different parts of the world.
I was looking forward to receive one of them Jane Austen stamps and here they are!
(One is of Mr Darcy on top left, and below that is also a Jane Austen stamp hidden behind the Dickens ones.)
Other favourites are Peter Rabbit and Alice. These were the kinds of books I grew up with as a kid, Harry Potter included. (I got the Chamber of Secrets one — I hope I get the Prisoner of Azkaban too as it’s my favourite from the series.)
This is my first Rumcajsovi card from Czech Republic. I’m interested in the different kinds of children’s shows / book illustrations in different countries — I think these cards tell more about a city than most touristy cards would. I love this character so much as the illustration is quite adorable.
The details are quite lovely and the back of the card is just as pretty.
Furthermore, I was surprised to see another card tucked inside the envelope.
To my surprise, it was an artcard! This is my first Alfons Mucha card, and I’m really looking forward to receive more of these.
The card was unwritten and would be really great for my collection.
I quite like Mucha’s works, would love to receive more from the Czech Republic.
