My second postcard from Italy came in from Bologna. 🙂

20150722-ITA-97-03

It was a vintage card (as I have requested), and I really quite like it.

Again, was super ecstatic someone sent me an artcard — and one of Monet!

(and also thankful that the local post wasn’t rude enough this time to stamp on the front side of the card – yes they did that to my card a couple of times.T_T)

This is my first Rumcajsovi card from Czech Republic. I’m interested in the different kinds of children’s shows / book illustrations in different countries — I think these cards tell more about a city than most touristy cards would. I love this character so much as the illustration is quite adorable.

The details are quite lovely and the back of the card is just as pretty.

Furthermore, I was surprised to see another card tucked inside the envelope.

To my surprise, it was an artcard! This is my first Alfons Mucha card, and I’m really looking forward to receive more of these.

The card was unwritten and would be really great for my collection.

I quite like Mucha’s works, would love to receive more from the Czech Republic.

DIRECT – JAPAN 20150525

The postman has a habit of collecting all my mail and sending in one go. (once a week, or twice a week)

Here is a card I received from someone in Japan who I had a lot in common with.:D

20150525-DIRECT-JAPAN-00

Suigin Grove and Masaki, (1856), Ando Hiroshige

I have mentioned my interest in art and the classic Japanese Ukiyo-e (woodblock prints) — well, not to the person I sent to but on my profile.

I wrote to the user in Japanese (yes, exchanging postcards/writing to strangers is helping me practice various languages I’m already learning … or at least trying to learn.).

20150525-DIRECT-JAPAN-01

I was so happy to be offered an Ukiyo-e card in return as I wasn’t expecting it at all. ❤

I was an avid gamer back in the days (I’d still be if I had time..) and we had similar tastes in games (how cool is that!), among other things.^_^

DIRECT – LITHUANIA 20150424

A user in Lithuania who likes sketches hinted about wanting to receive a handmade card.

I’ve always wanted to give a handmade card (I enjoy sketching and would love to give it to someone); So when I got this address I was super happy! 😀

I drew on a thick textured paper and backed it up with a thick board (oh yes I’m good with these things.)

I was pleased to know she likes the card and she offered to send something back. :3

I thought I was going to receive just a card from Lithuania… but to my surprise, it came in an envelope!

I think I’d also like to start collecting space stamps and space-related cards.

She also sent some used stamps. :3

And some unused stamps which she can no longer use. (Lithuania has joined eurozone in January 2015.) Well, at least that’s what I was told.
